Hi Karl
the canon is still cropped sensor. You said when we chatted on the phone that you wanted to move to the next level in your togging. The next level in your togging, mate is full frame. This cam though a good un isnt it. If you dont want to move to Nikon then get a canon 5D MkII or 5D. Ive used one,its fab but Im a nikon guy and use what I know. One thing to consider is that if you do go full frame with a Canon, you will need goooood glass and L glass costs a fortune....much more than the equivalent Nikon lens..
just my 2p worth and at the end of the day its down to you.

HI Karl
thats very true.It dfoes come down to the £'s and I wouldnt even think of a D700 if I wasnt getting my funding.Id stick with my d300.Im on;ly able to get a new one through the funding I will get. I dont know how much the new Canon will be and it may well be that you can get it for a lot less than a D700.....but if they were roughly similar in price then Id go D700.
Im going to have to sell my D300 in order to get the D700 and will be putting mine on ebay the minute the money goes into my bank account so that i can afford to get the D700.
what I would say and this is my honest opinion.I dont think any camera would make a difference to the quality of your images really.Your one of the most consistent quality togs I know and Ive not seen any image from you yet that I didnt want to emulate. Its nothing I havent said to you in our phonecalls anyway so it should be no surprise I said it.Mono or otherwise, doesn't matter what camera you finally get,you will always take quality images. At the end of the day its your choice and you have to chose what you can afford.
just my 2p worth...
and now Im going to be reformatting the lappy back to factory standard to get it ready for uni so if I disappear for a few hours and you hear screaming and something black and silver flying skywards.....it will be me and the lappy having words LOL

Thnx again Kenny...
The Canon 7D is retailed to sell at £1699 body only, roughly the same as the Nikon D700, i could get that but would have to sell all my canon gear in order to hopefully get just one decent lens.
There's the pro's n con's to consider??

after all the 7d IMO is aimed at the D300 woudl be purchasers....
as for the D700 being dated...
we all know technology moves at a horrendous rate..where do you stop???
Im set for 2-3 years now I think before Id consider upgrading but to what?? A d700 with a built in battery grip AKA D3??

Yes your quite right Andy, the 5Dmkii is very tempting, it's very pricey though, but does come with a very good lens nd the only way i get get something like that is useing the hire purchase option. If i can save upto at least £500 i could put a nice deposit down on the mkii to keep the payback per month lower??
