Dear all,

I am helping organise the LoveArgentina Photo Competition and we are currently looking for a venue to host the competition.

Ideally, we are looking for a venue which:
- is free to hire and located in Central London
- allows us to put up the photos for a week prior to the prize ceremony
- ideally has a section where people can come and view the photos
- has a drinks area

The main event, of course, is the prize ceremony (to be held on the weekend).

Do you have any suggestions? For example, any galleries or bars which would allow us to host such a photo competition?

Any suggestions/ideas are welcome!

About the only 'free' venue in London is likely to be an old bomb-site with a charity mobile canteen for the local winos etc.

I will be amazed if you get anything free in central London, why not just pay for somewhere? I assume if it's a comp with an award ceremony people have paid to enter, so spend some cash?

Thanks for the replies!

Bob and Chris - The "LoveArgentina" photo competition is a competition I am organising in London (I'm British) with some Argentine friends. The idea is to enter photos which show positive links between Argentina and Great Britain (nothing political!!). Since I can't put the link in the forum, you can search for it on google.

Ahab, Kenny and Jayne - We want to keep the competition free to allow as many entries as possible. Sometimes, in Central London, you can find venues which allow you to hire for free as long as the people attending spend a certain amount (for example £800) on food/drinks/products of the venue during the event.

If any of you do know of any such locations, I would be grateful if you could inform me.

have you not thought of contacting the Argentinian embassy to see if they can help you? You are after all promoting their country?

Thanks for the suggestion.

We do have contacts in the embassy but I think there was a problem with the availabilty dates for the embassy.
