No snow. Almost sunshine. Zoo was a major disappointment. Not sure about the animal welfare aspect. Some animals looked less than happy. A couple of brown bears looked like they were close to being loopy, stuck in a small enclosure, but I suppose they've been in there so long now that they can't be moved anywhere. Shame.

As to the togging.. Too many small enclosures, with small mesh cages. Getting a decent shot was really hard. We all struggled. Most of mine have a haze over them which is the mesh fencing. Pity really. Won't be going back in a rush.

Got a couple of decent shots of Kenny and Jayne, but don't tell them. They are my insurance in case they got any candid shots of me!!!

Got two, but don't say anything. They won't see the light of day unless I'm suddenly on here!!!

Lol Frank I am shocked! I never even took a shot of you today as I thought you were safe! Lol was lovely to meet you btw :-)
agree about the zoo but as I told you today I have been to alot of zoos and the only one I have ever been completely happy with from a welfare point of view is South Lakes, hope to see you there in May at the meet up

Well.....I got two of Frank and many of Jayne and the gang pushing a poor bloke's car to try to get it started when we went to the butterly zoo at Anglesey....the silly duffer had left hos lights on and drained his battery.....in brad daylight.Go figure!

Got to say that I didnt really get very impressed by NWMZ. I found I had issues with how the place was laid out for a start. In one place there was a bird aviary that was woefully small yet beside it was a huge plot of land that the could have used to extend the area so the birds would have had more room in. The sealion area was also very small and the enclosures made it night on impossible to get any decent shots....I think I have probably got five useable shots out of the day....

But.....like I said about it to Frank on Saturday. It wasnt about the photography. It was about the meetup and having time with good friends, to put faces to names on the forum and to have a chat and to socialize.Plus for me, ANY excuse to meet up with Jayne and the gang is a good one.I have just got home from Colwyn bay( stopped on a site near to the zoo) and to say I feel really fed up and low now is putting it mildly. To meet up with good mates who you care about deeply and have such a good laugh- and believe me when youve done Car dancing with Jayne, you do laugh, and to meet Katie's mate Jamie....who had to endure every welsh joke going on the trip about, you know you had a damned good time. Might not have been the best zoo in the world but the best company made up for it....and if you'd seen Jayne and Katie shouting "oi..wassaccurrin " like they did at the zoo it was with that alone for the trip. Was fab to meet everyone and doesnt matter that I came away without many photos. Its all about the crack in the end!

Nice shot Frank ;-)

PS: Please ignore an error code that seems to be showing at the top of the page. Looks like a giggle pin fell out of a do-dar, so need to debug the coding LOL ;)

Hiya Jayne

I am glad you got home okay...its a hell of a trek back to yours and I was worried about the snow.Glad you got home safe. Have to say that I have been dead depressed today.Thats the only thing I hate about meeting up with you guys and its the goodbyes.People dont realise how much fun we all have when we meet up and yesterday was magic....even though I was a tad spaced out on pain killers LOL. If Id have been on my own I deffo would have joined you but as you know.....I couldnt manage to dig a hole in the patio soon enough so had to go back LOL.Thanks for saying that cos it really made me feel like one of the family now- as I have done for a while anyway....I'm now proper corrupted and trained Yorkshire like....ayeup!

cant wait for south lakes....roll on May and cant wait for us to sort out a shoot at Craig's so we can all take a go at doing a 360 shoot of him and we can all pick our own sayings for him to say LOL....and looking like Focus on the MOnday is a goer cos looks like self study day that day.....so I'll study the exhibits at Focus :)
