Studio Lighting and Photoshop Training Day

Postby Passion » Thu Jan 20, 2011 3:31 pm

Hi All

I have got together to offer forum members a 1 day studio lighting and photoshop workshop based at Mick Trafford's new studio near Macclesfield in Cheshire.

"Brian has been running these workshops and 1-1 training sessions for a long time now I should know – I attended one of the first ones and learnt loads), but often people have mentioned that while they’d love to attend one, travelling down to Brian’s studio in Essex is an issue. So, we’re moving it further ‘up North’ lol. Macclesfield is fairly central in the UK, with good road and rail links (close to the M6 motorway and it’s on the main London to Manchester railway line".

This workshop will be presented by Brian (I get the distinct feeling I’m going to be chief teaboy lol), with the same format as his other workshops and is exclusive to forum members. There will be ample opportunity for taking shots and experimenting with lighting (there will be a model on the day), followed by a detailed photoshop editing demonstration and discussion
(details of lighting set-ups and editing techniques will be provided in a comprehensive set of course notes to take away with you).

In order to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the day we are limiting the numbers to a maximum of 10 on a strictly ‘first come first served’ basis.

The date for the workshop is Sunday 6th February 2011, and the discounted price for forum members is £100 per person. This price includes the workshop, course notes, model for the day and lunch – check out other courses and you’ll soon realise this really is a great deal (and you get both Mick and me!!!!!).

So – if you want to produce shots that sell and want to know exactly how we do it then sign up here – don’t forget – 5 Booked and there are only 5 places left.

Names attending:
Lynne (Fishes)
Byrom
Annette
Dazzler
Craig (ihavenoidea)

Cheers
Brian Smith ASWPP
Mick Trafford LSWPP

Hi guys

I haven't personally been on one of Brian's training days because of commitments via uni or college but in each of the people I have known who HAVE gone on one, they have come away with a better understanding of studio lighting, and the principles behind good studio ethos.I know our Jayne went up in leaps and bounds after her studio day and I am sure will endorse what a massive effect her studio days with Brian did to her work.Look at Jayne now. Studio days like Brian's speak for themselves and should be supported.

Best wishes with the course Brian.

I can vouch for these training days, £100 is nothing when you think what we spend on gear this is a small investment into your learning and advancing as a photographer..... books are great but there is nothing like watching someone demonstarte and then being able to have a go yourself, even if you haven't got lights at home and have never done studio this training day would be a great way to find out if it would be something you would like to venture into....
