I look at it this way, an SLR is designed and has been over decades with a particular use in mind, I have always seen video as just a sales tactic even though you can get some cracking examples out.

Having had my hands on pro video cameras (a videographers, not my own) compare an SLR at the side of one of them just the difference in practicality is notably miles apart.

Hi there and welcome. I know nothing about anything but would prefer a video cam for vids rather than a DSLR. Mind you I prefer my mobile phone to be just that - a mobile phone, not into all these "extra's" and apps n tinty net browsing. :)

Exactly pro video cams have more tools for video than an slr it really depends on the application and what you need to achieve.
