New member Derbyshire slr for video?

Postby PandS photo » Wed Feb 08, 2012 4:35 pm

Hi I am new to this forum but have a question. As a photographer and videographer I have noticed a shift to SLR's for videography personally I prefer a dedicated video camera any thoughts?

Hi and welcome to the forum. I use a Nikon D90 and, although it can be used to make first class videos, as an ex pro, I would certainly insist on a dedicated video camera.

I can not be bothered to use a vid cam any more, you only have to google films/vids made with the Canon 5D etc to see that pros and film crews use them now.

Who me. No way, I accepted the plate camera as soon as it was invented.

Bit harsh! I accept them and think the footage is fantastic but like the feel of a video camera. Nice welcome though thanks!

Got some footage mix of dedicated video and slr you can tell the slr because the DOF is nice and shallow.

I have also produced many DVDs using a 60D, and Pinnacle studio which I have been using for 15 years, the latest ones are superb.
