I have written to them before but never received a reply, which amazes me.

Take a look at the front page if you get a chance at "where" the chap is looking at the back of the camera.

Rule 1 of Photography "find the viewfinder" you can't see through solid plastic

Too be fair the person taking the shot is slightly to one side which might give that impression.
