ok i just thought i'd see what kind of views i get in here
i use the Nikon D5000
i want to get a macro lens, been looking into it for last couple of months but still not to sure what one to get
but i've narrowed it down to 2 i like.....
nikon as-f 105mm macro f2.8
or
nikon as-f 85mm macro f3.5
so far my thinkin was possible macro but still giving space between camera and subject.. i was looking at the 40mm macro lens but you have to be real close to subject i thought it would be no use for insects kinda shots, so thought on these longer length lenses
what are folks thoughts on the lens above ?
just my thoughts anyway but i must state no animals were hurt, killed or injured with me typing this

Isn't the D5000 a DX camera. If that's so, be careful if choosing a Nikon macro lens for full frame film cameras.
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to his country for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.'

yes i think it is a dx thats why i got to get af-s lenses
it makes like the 105mm lens something like 150mm lens
fingers crossed we have a bad winter as i drive the gritters and snow ploughs so fingers crossed i get to upgrade to maybe a Nikon D300s next year
