Websites, Wordpress or what? Help

Postby davidbousfield » Thu Aug 18, 2011 4:26 pm

Hi Everyone

I have a website but have been told that wordpress gets more visitors and is a better searchable format, I am unsure and wanted to ask the group what if any their experience was. My website is http://www.davidbousfield.org and gets good traffic but I have found this seems to be getting gradually less, any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

To be honest, wordpress is not one of my fav systems, and IMHO it is not very secure either. I personally use Joomla as the core system for websites, then modify it to suit the needs of the site owners.

There is something drastically wrong with your site coding, as the layout is getting all mixed up, and text hidden from view on the index page. Google will kill your ranking if text is hidden, as it's an old trick used by some SEO companies, to hide key words. Looking at the page source, itseems you created it in Serif WebPlus X4, which isn't really the best tool for the job IMHO If I were you, I'd start a fresh with something like Wordpress or Joomla etc, which are optimised for modern day SEO and browsing patterns ;)
