My Second time shooting a wedding... (but mainly as a guest)

Postby RhysPhotograph.Me » Sat Dec 10, 2011 7:41 pm

I went to my GF's cousin's wedding a few weeks ago, and the groom had asked me
if I wouldn't mind taking my camera to take some candid's of the family as he
had seen my other wedding photo's, I was going to take my camera anyway so I
said yes, although then I decided to take a couple more primes than I was going to, as I was just going to take my 50.

On the day, only the second photographer turned up as the main photographer was
ill, and for some reason he refused to stay beyond 7:00pm even though deal with
the main tog apparently included full coverage of the entire day.
Anyway come 7:00pm I took over from the official tog, which was just before
dinner.

Most of the day I just tried to stay out of the main togs way as much as
possible as I know how annoying it is when one of the guests get's in your way
and thinks their picture is more important than yours.

I also asked the official tog if he minded me taking pictures, and he said he didn't.

The rest of the images from the day can be seen at the below link...

Rhys you where a gentle man,,, could do with more people like you at weddings, I recall one uncle bob recently who stood IN FRONT of my camera just as I was taking each group shot so to do what you did was bob on ;)

And, as far as a photo goes, clear subject, eye contact, punchy colour...
Generally a very pleasing image though in a wedding/professional respect lacks a "moment" that fits it in to the story of the wedding.
But that last bits a mute point ;)

I agree, altho i think you have caught a moment, even tho it's not the 'wedding party' it's still a moment of the day and you clicked at just the right momen, a shot i would be proud of, lovely shot ;)

Well, if you can replicate the work on your website all day long and keep your cool in the face of ignorance, abuse and stress you should do a bob on job ;)

I've said it before but i have to say it again here. I've seen much worse from professionals.
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to his country for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.'
