We wnt on a day trip to Newby Hall, but i decided that i wasn't going to take shots of the Hall and decided to look for small things instead...

The last shot was trying to get a shot of a very big bee in flight...

Hi Karl

that first shot was a find and a half.Looks like its coming out of its chrysalis! Y'know all these fantastic macros really make me frustrated that I have yet to take a decent macro shot and it really is something I must master one of these fine days.

Thnx Kenny, well i hope that i can help improve your macro shots when the shroom day arrives. Do you have a flashgun or rely on the pop up flash??

Hi Karl

Ive got the SB600 flashgun.I hate onboard flash and the only thing Ive used the onboard one for was with CLS.

Im keeping my fingers crossed that the shroom day doesnt class with summat from uni!

Thats great, do you have a stofen diffuser and also a macro lens, if not thats ok as i'm pretty sure Jayne will let you use hers and i'll make sure i'll get you on the right track.

Blimey Karl...this kit list is getting longer by the minute LOL

got a 70mm prime F2.8 siggi 1:1 macro lens which my mate Neil lent me and got my nifty fifty and also got the 18-50 siggi DG macro but no stoffen....think they might fly away if I stuff a plakky milk bottle over the flash LOL...

think I'll have a bimble on the fleabay site as Im sure someone said they were only a few quid for copies on there.

Now I wont need a special haircut will I cos I only just had mine cut...allegedly though it looks like they buggered the hairstyle completely for the id card photo next week at Uni :-(

I can bring walking boots and a good thick Mac...the coat kind and not the computer kind( though at the blimmin moment I'd kill for an Apple Mac Ibook.....)

...just had a thought...the 70-300 APO DG is a macro lens too-but I'll have to stand in Barnsley to use it

LOL....you do make us laugh Kenny, but in all honesty even the big zoom would be fine, as for flash i never use flash on shroom shots, i rely on daylight hence the use of the tripod and cable release and for even lighting i use a small lastolite diffuser to block hot spots from the sun.

I do hope this shroom day doesn't include making tea or omelets out of some special fungi

PS: I've got a great collection of gold and silver reflectors made from.....................are you ready.................................one of those thermal blankets you get in first aid kits  it's gold one side, silver on the other. Plus, it's semi transparent, so if you put it silver side to the sun (or flash), it gives a really nice soft light.

Signed

LOL...the special omelet sounds good to me.

I went and bought a huge 5 in 1 reflector and that might come in use to block even more light, and could also be usefull as a rain cover!!!
