As you suggest Richard using a external flash. It's 'cos my favourite bit of glass is the Canon 100-400 L IS, so to get the DOF at full zoom I need to be at about F13 that shuts the light down. But I just love the dark background it creates. I had gone upstairs to get changed to go shopping and the tit was flying to and fro from the tree to the brickwork after insects. I opened the window and it just presented me with about 30 shots.

It's a Canon 430 EXII speedlight and was mounted on the camera and I was sat on the edge of the bed about 10ft away.
