Took a trip out around the yorkshire dales. Up to Hawes and back in a round trip. here are some.
We had a nice afternoon drive out in the Dlaes yesterday and there was some great mixed light....these 2 shots of the same scene but as you can see different focal lengths were taken just on the outskirts of Hawes...


Well these are the ones i took.

up at the end of the harbour, at the foot of Holyhead mountain there now sits a wonderful little coastal country park with wonderful walks and views. It comprises loads of beautiful landscape and some fine old buildings- one of which was once the quarry mill back when Holyhead mountain was a source of fine granite. The mill is now almost gone and parts that remained have been restored and there are hints ...

this is a HDR image made up of nine images with a +1/-1 step range.
This is the old anchor that lies at the top of the harbour breakwater.I took the van up to the breakwater to have a look up there and fell in love with the place. Some prime togging ops there

Originally I did this HDR using photomatix but it came out washed out with orrible halos and no matter what I did I couldnt get it right. I have redone it since then and this time used CS5 merge to HDR function which I found much better
Here's the revamped, re HDR'ed image and I am happy with this version.

many years ago I was in Devon and spotted a signpost on the coast that pointed to a coastal walk that was very beautiful. When I took the van up to the head of the harbour and parked on the remains of the old fishing port( long since gone) I spotted this sign which pointed as far as I could see, nowhere in particular.
