Double flash

Postby chris Hodgson » Fri Mar 05, 2010 8:08 pm

Just having a play with indoor flash, and had an idea (more than likely well known) Using onboard popup flash (set at lowest level), and my jessops flash unit on hot shoe bouncing from above, but set to slave mode.
This is the result, untouched except cropped out some of the crap in the room lol
I was quite impressed with the result for a flash shot, and the total lack of shadows etc. What do ya think :?:

Tried it on a few subjects now, and it seems to fill in any remaining shadows from the bounced flash really well. I have to pull the flash unit back slightly on the hot shoe, to give the popup flash space to come right up, but only about 2-3mm.

Had a quick look at mine, but don't think the pop-up can with a flash on with mine.

Yeah mate can work well if you get the balance right...which i seldom do ;-)

Some external flashes I saw in a mag have two flash tubes...one throws a little light forward while the main one can be bounced off the roof giving a similar effect from on camera.
