HI Chris
I like how just by shooting the heads of the horses you show the fantastic line of the animals.Looks like you had a productive day and it looks like your pessimism about the weather was ill founded. One thing that stands out is the bokeh on the images.I feel that you might have found a little niche here for horse photography.Might be something to persue???? I believe there is a bit of money to be made in the field and I think you should see where you can take it.

A good set here. Head shots of horses are very popular, you have captured these very well. Good DOF in all. along with detail and clarity

Yep, the 2nd shot is my fav too. I checked out horse head shots before doing these, and went for the classic pose for the rest. But I really did think this head turned shot worked far better. Meeting with owners tomorrow, so will see if my gut feeling about No2 is right. Not easy to get them to stand like that, as they will naturally turn if you get them to move their heads to one side

I managed to grab this one as she turned the horse for a full body shot

It may be a matter of keeping them turning, and grabbing the shot as they turn, rather than getting them to stand for the shot.
Here is another, but I'm not too happy with this one. Remember these shots are more about the horses, than the actual rider

#2 for me too, the angle and dof completely isolates the horse from the background.
Good shot, nice looking horse too.

Technically these are lovely Chris.. I think the best for me is the fourth one the horse is relaxed has his ears pricked forward and has a loose rein,
whereas some of the others look a little "taken at the best possible moment" but are still nice shots..An example is the tight rein in the first pulling the horse to the right..
Try clicking your tongue to get the horse's attention as you are about to take the shot that will normally get the response of him bringing his ears forward.
I am horsey so i'm prob a bit more picky than the others..lol :)
